I have come to the conclusion that director Lee Daniels loves stirring up controversy. While his current film in production, “The Butler”, adapted from a true story about a Black man who served several Presidents, might be considered tame his next project will not be. Daniels is gearing up to take a look at anĀ  alternative theory about the death of Civil Rights Leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Namely, that James Earl Ray is innocent. When I heard a few weeks ago that Oprah Winfrey was considering using the new Lee Daniels project, “The Butler” (about a Black man named Eugene Allen who served eight presidents at the White House) as her return to acting I was underwhelmed. I think Oprah should just be her uber famous self and do what she does best like get the interview–like the one with Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina this Sunday.
