When I heard that Raven-Symone will replace Tony nominee Patina Miller in the Broadway production of “Sister Act” a couple of things went through my mind. First, since the character she’ll assume, Deloris Van Cartier, is a bit more mature than the 20-something year-old actress I thought she was a strange choice. Then, I said a silent prayer that this production doesn’t become “Chicago” with a revolving cast of movie, tv and music people trying to earn their Broadway cred. "Sister Act: The Musical" Premieres on London's West End

Whoopi Goldberg may not have been successful in bringing a revival of “For Colored Girls” to Broadway but another one of her pet projects just opened on London’s West End. “Sister Act: The Musical” had a press preview and many think it is a hit (basically it’s predictable but highly entertaining). Good for Whoopi! This is also good new for Patina Miller, the sister who was chosen to play Delores the lounge singer (the role Whoopi originated in the 1992 film) who is blowing folks out of their seats.
