As I was switching through the channels yesterday I noticed that director Tyler Perry was co-hosting “Live With Kelly”  as part of the promotion for his latest movie “Madea’s Witness Protection.” Great for him. While I have mad respect for the man and his hustle I don’t enjoy Madea. Yes, I said it. I may be in the minority but I think he can do better (and he has). But the truth is Madea plays to his audience base and the man is simply giving the people what they want. And because of that I have come to the conclusion…

Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman gave Jim Carrey lots to think about when he played God in the hilarious flick “Bruce Almighty”. Now Freeman will get our attention in real life. He’s replacing legendary broadcaster, Walter Cronkite, as the introductory voice to CBS’ Evening News broadcast. We can hear you now Mr. Freeman.

As I mentioned yesterday, we’ll be talking about Awards for the next three months. Right about now having your name show up on a ballot almost trumps box office numbers (I said almost). Since Mo’Nique has already been named Best Supporting Actress by I think three (and counting) Critic’s Association none of us is surprised that she’s up in the mix for the Golden Globes. Still a ‘go girl’ has to be inserted right there. And I have a big Kool-Aid smile on because I’m overjoyed that Gabourey Sidibe’s work as Claireece “Precious” Jones has also been recognized.
